When I first read your family’s story, I wept. I hardly knew you, much less anything of motherhood, but there was something unique about your words that enabled me to feel the slightest bit of the weight of disappointment and grief in the loss of Kinley and your other sweet babies.
Faithful.
A word that encapsulates the Father’s posture towards you, and your continual choice to trust Him.
When God gave me the vision for a photoshoot that both celebrates the miracle you are carrying and the song you birthed out of a season of grief and hope, I had no idea it was the one year anniversary of when you released “Faithful”. There are good ideas, and then there are God ideas. I am enormously thankful that you partnered with me to bring this God idea to life, and to share your story in this capacity.
From a distance I have watched you and your family be faithful to a promise that you had every reason to loathe and to have abandoned. From afar I have seen you fight to remain soft, sitting in each season with a kind of patience and endurance I have yet to know.
Thank you for inviting me into this tender place of gratitude, joy and fear with you. It was an honor to capture images that both honor our wonder working God, and commemorate your faithfulness to the promise over your life.
