Why invest into wall art?

You care a lot about how your home looks, but I’d bet that you care even more about how your home feels. Art is not meant to just fill a blank wall - it’s meant to affect your everyday life. It inspires you, energizes you, welcomes you in, uplifts your mood, and has a story to tell to everyone who visits you. My photographs are for the romantics and old souls. They’re for those who have left pieces of their heart in cities all around the world. They’re for the dreamers, and those with eternal wanderlust.

My print shop is a collection of 35mm film photos I have taken all across the world. You have the option of ordering individual prints, canvases or framed photos in a variety of sizes to best suit your space.

About destination photographer: Alice

I shot my first roll of film when I was only 11 years old. Back then, digital cameras weren’t a thing! While film was how my love affair with photography began, it was quickly consumed with the world of digital photos in my teen years. I didn’t return to shooting film until the fall of 2023.

My husband and I spent a week in Paris, and I brought one roll of film with me. When we returned home I sent it off to the lab, praying that it would turn out, and that I still knew how to use a film camera properly. For years I had been relying on the ease of digital - quickly correcting a mistake after checking my screen, shooting 30 photos in a minute just to ensure I got the right shot, or taking a photo that was ok and knowing I could make it good with photoshop. I wanted to prove I didn’t have to rely on those things - to prove to myself that I had the knowledge and talent required to take a truly great photograph.

I cried when the scans from Paris were delivered to my email inbox. Almost every single photo had turned out exactly as I’d hoped. It reawakened and inspired me. I realized that more of life should be documented with the timelessness of film - a unique medium that immortalizes a moment in a way digital can’t. In the fall of 2023 I started shooting film with every one of my clients, and it is now primarily what I deliver.

My hope is that these photographs inspire your every day, and transport you back to your favorite places.

With love,
Alice Mae Photography
